Ylvisaker 20 goal continues

Second day of tournament includes wins for Audi, Lucchese and Orchard Hill

The first match of the day, the second of the 20 goal tournament held at International Polo Club Palm Beach, featured Joe Barry winners, Orchard Hill (Steve Van Andel, Lucas Criado, Facundo Pieres and Remy Muller). They faced Jerome Wirth’s Enigma (Jeff Hall, Matias MacDonough and Carlucho Arellano) and it proved a very close match. Both teams were evenly matched, with the scores tied at the end of the fourth, fifth and sixth chukkas, thus forcing the game into overtime. Sadly it was an Enigma foul which gave Orchard Hill the opportunity to score the winning goal (10-9) meaning a less-dramatic ending to an exciting match.

The Lucchese (John Muse, Magoo Laprida, Nico Pieres and Geronimo Obregon) versus Villa Del Lago (Jim Zenni, Agustin Obregon, Polito Pieres and Julian de Lusaretta) match was a battle between cousins, but the final result wasn’t the one expected. Polito may have scored the first goal of the league match, but it was his cousin, Nico who notched up 10 goals on the day. Despite both teams being on 9-all at the end of the fourth, John Muse’s Lucchese had an inspired fifth chukka, scoring five goals and keeping the opposition at bay. A further two goals scored in the sixth, took their lead to 16-9 and even though Villa Del Lago clawed back goals of their own, they were defeated 16 goals to 12.
In the last match of the day, Audi (Marc Ganzi, Lucas Lalor, Nic Roldan and Fred Mannix) recovered from a first chukka 4-1 deficit from CT Energia (Alessandro Bazzoni, Kris Kampsen, Joao Ganon and Nick Manifold) to take the game. In the fifth, Roldan added a field goal whilst patron, Ganzi converted a 30-yard penalty shot to take the scoreline to 12-7 and although CT Energia were the only goal scorers in the sixth, they couldn’t beat the Audi line-up who ran out the winners, 12-9. As the main game of the afternoon at International Polo Club Palm Beach, Nic Roldan picked up Most Valuable Player, whilst Nick Manifold’s Kiwi was named BPP in front of the usual large Sunday crowd.
