HPA New Year National Club Championships

Cool Riders gallop to the Final with a win against Cofina

The all-ladies team in the 1-3 goal section of the Berkshire’s HPA New Year National Championships have made it to tomorrow’s Final. The Cool Riders line-up of Meadows sisters, Genevieve and Saskia alongside Nell Jacobs have stormed through the tournament winning at each and every turn, beating Tally Ho Farm, Gaucho, Vaux Park and Cofina. Their penultimate contest of the tournament was the Semi Final against Colin Johnston and his team of Terence Lent and Mark Hayden-Kellard whom they defeated 15-14 – taking their total goal tally to an incredible 32 goals scored throughout the tournament so far.

The ladies will be taking on Print on Demand (Andy and Marcus Cork with Hertfordshire Polo’s Stuart Beetle) for the coveted Final. With plenty of youth on both sides, this tournament decider should be a real competition of skill and tactics from the up-and-coming players. The Subsidiary Final for the 1-3 goal will see Gaucho take on Cofina in as the first game of the day on Saturday 24 January. The 10-12 goal Final includes a predictable line-up of Jonathan Munro Ford’s Black Eagles against Yevgeny Chichvarkin’s Hedonism Wines who have been dominating the arena headlines this season, whilst the Subsidiary Final will be between Chopendoz and Four Quarters.

The Club will have another major contest this winter season with the 20th Anniversary of the Gold Cup 13-15 goal, which will be played from 13 – 15 February.

Saturday 24 January HPA Arena National Club Championships 10am:

1-3 goal Subsidiary Final Gaucho vs. Red Kites 11.15am

10-12 goal Subsidiary Final Chopendoz vs. Four Quarters 12.30pm

1-3 goal Final Cool Riders vs. Print on Demand 1.45pm

10-12 goal Final Black Eagles vs. Hedonism Wines
