HPA New Year National Club Championships continue

Semi Finals in the 3 goal are decided

The all-ladies team entered in the 1-3 goal HPA New Year National Club Championships at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club have made it to the Semi Finals. The Cool Riders team line-up of Nell Jacobs (2) and sisters Genevieve (0) and Saskia (1) Meadows have taken on and beaten all three teams in their league. They now face Colin Johnston’s Cofina on Friday with Mark Hayden-Kellard and Terence Lent. The Hertfordshire-based Print on Demand team of brothers Andy and Marcus Cork (both 0 goalers) with 3 goaler Stuart Beetles will play Tally Ho Farm in the second Semi Final of the day. Gaucho, having won two games, but lost to Cool Riders will play the Subsidiary Final on Saturday morning, whilst their opposition will be decided today when Red Kites (Elise Bailey (-1), Adolfo Casabal Jnr (1) and Josh Clover (3)) take on the Black Hound Team (Harry Hutchings (0), Ricky Cooper (1) and Nick Beitner (2)).

Places in the 12 goal Final are still to play for. Black Eagles have predictably won both of their games to date; firstly against Jamie Morrison’s Chopendoz with a cricket score of 25 – 11 and with a smaller margin of 17 – 14 against Simon Arber’s Four Quarters. Their next contest is today against rivals Hedonism Wines with a line-up of Yevgeny Chichvarkin (1), Roy Prisk (3) and Max Charlton (8). So far Hendonism Wines have only played one game against Four Quarters with a loss by three goals, and will play their third game of the tournament on Friday against Chopendoz.

The Subsidiary Final of the 12 goal will be at 11.15am and the Final of the 3 goal is scheduled for 12.30pm and the 12 goal will be straight after at 1.45pm this Saturday. For a full list of scores and team lists please visit the Tournament section of our website.
