In the first game of the tournament held at the Tianjin Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club, the 2013 victors, Hong Kong China beat the visiting USA team, 13 goals to 6. Fielding a team including John Fisher, 8 goaler John Paul Clarkin, Lucas Lalor and Santiago Cernadas, the home side led from the first half, riding off the pitch 8 goals to 4. The American team, including Carlos Gracida Jr, Andrew Weisz, Mike Azzaro and Nic Roldan, secured the first two goals of the fourth chukka but sadly failed to continue the attack. In the penultimate and final chukkas, Hong Kong were the sole goal scorers and ran out the winners, securing a place in Sunday’s Final. England (George Meyrick, Jack Richardson, Max Charlton and Tom Morley) play Argentina (Pablo Dorignac, Tomas Ruiz Guiñazú, Agustín Máiquez and Martín Tassara) tomorrow, Thursday 2 October. The Subsidiary Final will be played on Saturday 4 October with the Final scheduled for Sunday 5.
