Mon 8th Sep 2014England claim second victory in ChantillyWin against Spain secures place in Semi Finals
Earlier this afternoon England defeated Spain in their second match in the FIP European Championships. The 8 goal line up of Freddie and Max Dear, Jack Mesquita and Olly Tuthill triumphed over defending champions Spain, 8–5. The Spanish line-up of Mario Gomez Duran, Nicolas Alvarez Cervera, Yago E. De los Monteros and Luis Asnar Oriol have failed to secure a win so far in this year’s tournament. Following on from England’s earlier success against Austria, a second win has secured them a place in Friday’s Semi Finals despite the fact that they still have one league game to play. Their third match takes place on Wednesday against Ireland, although both teams are in fact already through to the Semi Finals. Photograph: England after their victory against Spain.
