Ellerston lifts Silver Cup in Sotogrande

The Pieres brothers and co triumph in the high-goal Silver Cup

ELLERSTON WON THE high-goal Silver Cup on Friday at Santa Maria Polo Club, Sotogrande.

The team of Johnnie Williams, Gonzalito and Facundo Pieres and British player Ali Paterson overcame Halcyon Gallery, featuring Charlie Hanbury, Max Routledge, Jota Chavanne and Guillermo Terrera, 13-11 in the final.

British seven-goaler James Beim triumphed in the medium-goal Silver Cup, playing alongside young Brits Tom Brodie and Tommy Beresford, as well as Juan Britos, for the Equus team. They defeated Costa Rica 10-7 in the final to claim victory.

The low-goal Silver Cup also concluded this weekend. It was won by Los Dragones, who beat Costa Rica 13-7.

The high and medium-goal Gold Cup tournaments begin today, with Silver Cup finalists Halcyon Gallery facing Dubai in the opening high-goal match.
