Thu 15th Aug 2013Brits go up in handicap changesThe high-goal and Victor Ludorum end of season handicap changes have been announced
SEVERAL YOUNG BRITISH players have seen their handicaps rise following the high-goal and Victor Ludorum season. George Meyrick has had his handicap raised from five to six, following a successful season playing in the 12, 15 and 18-goal Victor Ludorum tournaments. Matt Perry, who won both the Queen's Cup and the Gold Cup with Zacara, had gone from three to four, as has Australian Alec White, who played for Dubai, losing out to Zacara in the final of the Gold Cup. Perry's Zacara teammate, Rodrigo de Andrade, has moved from eight to nine, while Dubai's Nico Pieres has risen from seven to eight. As a result, both Dubai and Zacara have seen their team handicaps rise by two, meaning their current line-ups are no longer eligible for the high-goal in England. Sapo Caset, who played for Enigma in this year's high-goal, has been dropped from ten to nine, while Juan Merlos, who played for HB Polo has moved down from nine to eight. The changes were agreed at the handicaps meeting on 14 August, but are yet to be ratified by stewards at the second handicaps meeting on 17 September. The new handicaps are effective as of 1 January 2014. To see the full list of handicap changes please click here.
