Ellerstina to defend Tortugas Open crown
The Triple Crown will begin next month with the Tortugas Open
THE FIXTURE LIST for the first tournament of the Argentine Triple Crown, the Tortugas Open, has been announced. Last year's winners Ellerstina will return to defend their title, as will La Dolfina, who reached the final in 2012. Joining them will be Alegria, La Aguada, La Natividad and La Aguada Las Monjitas.
The Ellerstina line-up remains unchanged from last year, comprising Facundo, Gonzalo and Nico Pieres and Mariano Aguerre. La Dolfina will also be fielding the same team as in 2012, made up of Adolfo Cambiaso, Pelon Stirling, Pablo MacDonough and Juan Martin Nero. Both teams will play off a 39-goal handicap this season.
The tournament will begin on 24 September, with La Aguada taking on Alegria in the opening match. La Natividad will face La Aguada Las Monjitas on day two, with Ellerstina in action on Saturday 28 September against the losing team from the first day's play. La Dolfina will play their first match of the tournament on Sunday 30 September, against the losing team from the second day's match.
The final is due to take place on 12 October.
