Mon 29th Apr 2013Argentina lift Nations Cup at PalermoPieres brothers prove too strong for the Rest of the World
ARGENTINA LIFTED THE 2013 Nations Cup on Saturday, after defeating the Rest of the World team, which featured Luke Tomlinson. Ten-goalers Facundo and Gonzalito Pieres were joined by Fernando Rivera and Diego Cavangh for Argentina and the team got their noses in front from the first chuka, extending their narrow early lead to win 13-8. British seven-goaler Luke Tomlinson was joined on the Rest of the World team by Pascual Sainz de Vicuña, John M. Zavaleta and Jaime García Huidobro. Argentina were also victorious in the junior match against the Rest of the World, which was held earlier in the day at Palermo, Buenos Aires. Brit Tommy Beresford teamed up with Mario Silva, Ignacio Viana and Vial Andrés Pérez for the Rest of the World, but was beaten 9.5-6 by the young Argentina side of Manuel Sundblad, Simon Prado, Lucio Fernandez Ocampo and John M. Zubía.
