La Bamba win Copa República
British boys defeated on finals day at Palermo
CHARLIE HANBURY'S SAUVETERRE Lovelocks team was defeated by La Bamba de Areco in the final of the Copa República.
The 23-goal La Bamba de Areco team of Diego Cavanagh, Rodrigo Rueda Jr, Guillermo Willington and Rodrigo Rueda secured the title with a 16-13 win over the 24-goal Sauveterre Lovelocks. Hanbury was joined by Santiago Solari, Alberto Heguy and Gaston Laulhe.
British players George Hanbury and Max Hutchinson teamed up for Indios Chapaleufú II. They reached the subsidiary final, but were beaten 12-10 by Alegria.
Twelve teams contested the 0-40-goal tournament at Palermo, with team handicaps ranging from 4 to 26.
