Alegria wins C.V. Whitney Cup
Julian Mannix leads his team to victory in the C.V. Whitney Cup
ALEGRIA WON THE first tournament of the 26-goal US Triple Crown, defeating Lechuza Caracas to lift the C.V. Whitney Cup.
The team of patron Julian Mannix, Hilario Ulloa, Facundo Obregon and Mariano Aguerre beat Victor Vargas's Lechuza Caracas 14-10 in the final at International Polo Club Palm Beach (IPCPB).
The teams were closely-matched throughout the first half, with Alegria just having the edge at half-time, 6-4. With their noses in front, Alegria widened the gap during the second half to secure the win.
Orchard Hill were the winners of a much closer subsidiary final, defeating ERG 11-10.
